Life, as it often does, took me down a different educational route initially. I found myself at university, deep in the logic and structure of an IT degree. But even amidst algorithms and coding, the pull of the lens remained. It was during a module focused on image manipulation software that I truly rediscovered my first love. Picking up a "proper" camera, not just to point and shoot, but to understand light, composition, and the very essence of an image – that's when it all clicked. It was an exhilarating re-ignition of that childhood spark, and from that moment on, my photographic journey truly began.

Now, with over a decade of dedicated experience and a degree in photography under my belt, and proudly based in vibrant Liverpool, my professional focus largely gravitates towards the adrenaline-fueled world of sports and motorsport events. There’s an undeniable thrill in being trackside, feeling the rumble of engines, and anticipating that split-second decision that makes for an iconic shot. My passion has taken me to exhilarating race tracks around the country, from local go-kart circuits and professional racetracks, to the picturesque circuits nestled in Scotland and the challenging curves of Wales, capturing the raw energy of every turn, every overtake, and every finish line.

Beyond the high-octane environment of the track, my lens is incredibly versatile, and I've had the immense pleasure of covering a wonderfully diverse array of other events and subjects. I've immersed myself in the lively atmosphere of parties and social gatherings, capturing genuine smiles and candid interactions. My portable studio setup has allowed me to bring professional-quality lighting and backdrops directly to clients, creating everything from elegant studio portraits to the delightfully messy and joy-filled chaos of children's cake smash photography. I've explored the great outdoors for natural light portrait photoshoots, capturing individuals and families against stunning backdrops. My camera has also been a witness to the electrifying energy of music festivals and bustling live events, the solemn beauty of communions, and the intricate storytelling on stage as I've filmed and photographed plays in theatres. I've cheered on local football teams and captured the grit of charity matches, felt the tension rise at boxing events, and immortalised the joy of several weddings.

My approach to photography is inherently documentary-style – I'm far more interested in "capturing what is happening" organically than in creating or posing scenes. I believe the most powerful and authentic images are those that freeze genuine moments, emotions, and interactions as they naturally unfold. It's about telling a true story with every click of the shutter. This commitment to authenticity has led to my work being recognised and featured in a number of news articles and magazines, both online and in print, which is always incredibly rewarding.

When I'm not behind the camera professionally, you'll still find it firmly in my hand. I'm a proud dad to two young boys, and there’s nothing I love more than getting out and about with them, exploring new places, whether it’s a quiet walk on the beach, an afternoon at a local park, or a family day out. Every outing is an opportunity to capture those fleeting, precious moments of childhood joy and discovery.
